Methyl parathion is a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) and acaricide used to control boll weevils and many other crop insects.
Highly toxic by ingestion and inhalation, any crop treated with this insecticide must be quarantined for 48 hours. While only moderately toxic when in contact with the skin, it is an organophosphate that can be quickly absorbed and should be handled with caution.
